RN FPS has a mix of Military and Civilian Staff (Civil Servants).
Our Military Staff include:
Royal Navy Welfare is a branch of the Royal Navy where those at Leading Hand (LH) or Petty Officer (PO) can apply to transfer into RN FPS. Once selected, they go through the Defence Specialist Welfare Workers Course (DSWWC) with Army colleagues and following graduation, they are trained to provide specialist welfare services. Some will go on to qualify as a Social Worker.
Digital Moderators are Military Personnel working as Full Time Reservists. They moderate and administer RN FPS Digital Platforms and official social media channels, working closely with all Naval Service Units encouraging engagement with families.
Our Civil Servants include:
Social Workers are qualified, registered Social Workers working as civilians alongside their Military colleagues bringing their specialised skills in Social Work into the Royal Navy ensuring Personnel and families have a wide range of support to assist in crisis intervention and safeguarding.
Community Development Workers are fully trained in youth and play work and the provision of activities and events to support isolated communities and separation, especially at times of deployment. At times, they may also support their colleagues by carrying out play work with children and young people in crisis.
Community Support Workers assist the Community Development Workers in their delivery and work alongside RN FPS registered volunteers to provide a wide range of activities within many main Naval Service Establishments.
Information Officers provide up to date and relevant information, especially on relocation and deployment, working closely with their colleagues in Army and RAF HIVE in order to have a baseline level of information for all within the MOD Community.
Business Support assists with many tasks that help RN FPS deliver daily, including Data Protection, GDPR, and Health and Safety ensuring these are adhered to.
