This months book is Jaws ... please do leave your thoughts and comments on the book here.

"The vintage thriller which inspired Stielberg’s blockbuster film. In a small Atlantic resort the mutilated body of a young woman, or what is left of it, washes up on a long, white beach. It is merely a harbinger of the horror that is about to unfold, as a sun-drenched holiday turns into a nightmare."

The National Book Club team, Nicky, Clare, Sarah look forward to seeing you on the 18th May from 1930-2100 to discuss at our Teams meeting.

Will this month’s book be sent out soon? I’m just worried about running out of time to read it before the next book club!

I started the Audible on Saturday and I've just an hour left!  Never did I think I would enjoy this book as much, I couldn't stop listening!  From the author's description I wouldn't have picked Roy Scheider to play Martin Brodie in the film, but maybe Roy was the Mark Ruffalo of the 1970s!!!!  Can't wait to hear everyone's views.

Just finished this month's book. Having watch the film makes it easy to picture some of the events as you read them, but don't ever remember his wife having a fling and thought there were more shark attacks. Might have to watch the film.again.

Working late tomorrow so won’t be back in time for the meeting sadly. Read the book and I’m on the sharks side - I wish he’d eaten all the characters as they were all unbearable. Can tell it was written in the 70’s and it was basically about a guy having a midlife crisis and feeling emasculated and for some reason that became everyone’s problem. Only good bit was the shark POV in the first chapter - should have been more of that and less of Brody whining.
1/5 sink for me sorry Joy

Sorry will not be able to make the next meeting. I have mixed thoughts about the book, some pages I loved and others I felt were not required.

Not able to make bookclub tonight as I've not finished the book yet. I'm just over the half way mark but i've found it quite difficult to get into. At times it's felt like quite alot of filler that hasn't been needed. I'm going to persevere and try to finish it as others seem to have really enjoyed it this month. So far however, it's been a sink for me.
