This months book is Jaws ... please do leave your thoughts and comments on the book here.

"The vintage thriller which inspired Stielberg’s blockbuster film. In a small Atlantic resort the mutilated body of a young woman, or what is left of it, washes up on a long, white beach. It is merely a harbinger of the horror that is about to unfold, as a sun-drenched holiday turns into a nightmare."

The National Book Club team, Nicky, Clare, Sarah look forward to seeing you on the 18th May from 1930-2100 to discuss at our Teams meeting.

Firstly I'd like to say what a great choice this was.  It wasn't something I'd have chosen myself, having seen the film a number of times and thinking I knew the story.  I listened on Audible and the narration was excellent.   I loved  all the additional detail, back-stories and emotions that it carried and which I've never picked up on watching the film.  Maybe because they weren't included. I don't remember the chiefs wife having a fling with the oceanographer!  That was a new an unexpected twist which came across as completely out of character and made me feel dreadfully sorry for her husband.  All in all a surprising 8/10 Swim.

Loved the book. Probably a 3 star rating for me. I havnt finished it yet as I was late to the party! But I’m almost finished. I was very sceptical about reading this book as I really don’t like the films. I was very pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoyed it! Even the first page was really good and pulls you in straight away to read more!!! Can’t wait to finish it and see what the next book is! Sorry I can’t make it tonight I was looking forward to seeing new people but I will 100% be on the next call!
