Please join the Royal British Legion in wishing D-Day veteran John Roberts a very happy 100th birthday.
Born in India, John joined the Royal Navy at just 13 years old, studying at Dartmouth Royal Naval College.
On D-Day John was a Sub-Lieutenant on HMS Serapis - a minesweeper warship that defended Normandy against enemy ships and aircraft for over two weeks.
This June RBL are looking forward to marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day with Normandy veterans like John with a series of events in both France and the UK.
