RN FPS volunteers assist with service family groups such as coffee mornings, junior groups, and summer holiday activities. Volunteers also have opportunities to support the provision of large themed events such as Easter, Halloween, Christmas events and at times, may be asked to support RN FPS staff for base Open Days, Sail-aways and Homecomings! These groups and events aid in reducing isolation and offer support for service families by creating opportunities for individuals to meet new people who are likely to be in similar circumstances.
Anyone may come forward as a volunteer; they don’t need to be in the military or have any military connections. Serving military personnel and their families are also welcome to volunteer, as well as children aged 13 years old and above who can become RN FPS junior leaders.
