Every year, Visiting Officers from RN FPS are fortunate to be offered the opportunity via The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charities to attend The Royal Albert Hall and host the bereaved families to show their continued support.
CPO Jackson hosted the family of the late Mne Nathan Summersgill-Smith who sadly died from a rare cancer in November 2024. To read more on Nathan’s condition please see this heartfelt article from Pendleside Hospice Forever 28: Celebrating the Life of Nathan Summersgill-Smith.
Amelia (Nathan’s wife) has been a big supporter of The Royal Marines since Nathan joined and continues to fundraise for both the charity and Pendleside, and her latest crazy idea is to explore the Great Walls of China.
Amelia and her family have been strong advocates of RN FPS and the support they have received from the Initial Visiting Officer visit, and as you can see in the picture above, both Amelia and Louise thoroughly enjoyed their evening on Friday, 20th March 2026 watching the RM band and Special Guests.
Amelia and Lousie reflected back that it was great to see RN FPS in a more relaxed environment and enjoying the evening together whilst remembering their nearest and dearest.
