Feeling the ups and downs of Deployment?
You’re not alone.
Blackmore Vale Home Start are starting a friendly online support group this January 2026 — The Deployment and Separation Diaries — for Service Families and extended Family members to share experiences, learn practical coping tools, and support each other through every stage of Deployment and Homecoming.
It’s 45 minutes a week, online and open to Serving Personnel, Spouses (with at least one child under 5), and extended family such as grandparents linked to a child under 5.

This offer is available for any family, regardless of location and is not just limited to their usual area (North and West Dorset & South Somerset).
The course is not currently open for Submariners, as they know that Deployment for them is extraordinarily different.
