Starting again somewhere new is challenging. Tackling the challenges of relocation head on, six new projects funded by Serving Families: On the Move hope to make each move a little easier, ensuring service families feel welcome and thrive in their new location.

Bereaved families within the armed forces community will soon benefit from specialist mental health and wellbeing support, thanks to a an award of nearly £2 million under our Empowering Bereaved Military Families programme.

Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) will deliver targeted support for military families who’ve lost loved ones during or connected to service.

From periods to menopause, healthy minds to proper advocacy for those facing harassment and bullying – we’re supporting the wellbeing of women in service.

Our Service Women: Seen & Heard programme has awarded 8 projects designed to improve inclusion for women in the military, break taboos and ensure their needs are met.

Evaluation of the Covenant Fund’s grant-making for the 2024-27 period is getting underway.

If your project received an award from the Fund from April 2024 onwards, you may have received an invite to share your early reflections on your project. Your expert observations are crucial in helping us spread the word about your learning and best practice which can help others across the armed forces community.

How do you solve the most intractable problems facing the armed forces community? It’s the question which was taken on by organisations in our Transformational Grants programme – and our CEO, Anna Wright, has been reflecting on them at the halfway point of their delivery.

This week marked World Mental Health Day - an opportunity to honour the strength and resilience of our veterans.
