Naval Families Federation (NFF) are seeking your views and feedback on how you book medical appointments for your children and access their digital medical records.
Whilst many Non-serving Parents are able to book appointments and access their children’s records, Serving Parents have been contacting NFF to discuss the issues they are facing, as much of this is now done through the NHS App, and will go through the new MyCare.Scot app in Scotland in the future.
The problem is that to create an account and use the App, either as a patient or parent, you must be registered with a GP, which Serving Personnel are unable to do as they are registered with Defence Medical Services.
This is a particular issue for Dual-serving and Serving Single Parents who could struggle to book medical appointments or view their child’s medical records, test results etc.
As the NHS across the UK moves towards greater use of digital platforms for healthcare, NFF are working with them to better understand the challenges that Serving Parents face, or might face in the future, so that your views and concerns can be shared with the NHS Digital Teams who are leading on these major projects.
NFF have put together a short survey that should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
Please take the time to share your views with NFF, so that they can ensure that your experiences are understood by NHS Digital Teams.
