Parenting Children Who Struggle With Big Emotions

We know that parenting a child with ADHD and/or autism is incredibly rewarding, but also exhausting and isolating at times, especially when you’re dealing with big emotions, meltdowns or behaviour which is aggressive or even violent.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join one of our upcoming parenting courses for Royal Navy and Royal Marines familiesBig Emotions.

You’ll be with other parents who understand the unique challenges of Navy life in a safe and non-judgemental space.

About the course:

  • Format: 4 weekly sessions online via Zoom, with 2 optional follow-up sessions based on parents’ choice of topic
  • Time: 7.30 - 9.00pm
  • Mondays: 1, 8, 15, 22 June (optional extras on 29 June & 6 July)

What we’ll cover:

  • Understanding and responding to big feelings
  • Dealing with outbursts and meltdowns
  • Managing challenging or aggressive behaviour
  • Using consequences that work
  • Looking after yourself as a parent

All Navy-connected parents and carers are very welcome. The sessions are friendly, practical and supportive.
