The Step into Health (SitH) programme connects those from the Armed Forces community (inclusive of all cohorts and tri-service) with NHS organisations across England and Wales.

It recognises the valuable transferable skills of the Armed Forces Community, and this is something NHS organisations absolutely look for - leadership, resilience, teamwork, organisation… the list really goes on!  

With over 350 career opportunities, clinical or non – clinical, The NHS health careers website is a fab place to start to explore the opportunities.

Many alumni of the programme often say the NHS culture is recognisable to those who have served/family of those who have served as there is that sense of comradery which often eases the huge change of starting off in a new career out of the military as it’s a familiar feeling. The SitH programme team are here to support with this transition and getting a foot in the door into NHS employment.
