Book Club Discussion for The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion

Absolutely loved this book and couldn't wait to listen to it when i had a free moment.  It was good to hear in first person voice how a person with Aspergers navigates everyday life and how utterly exhausting and challenging it can be.  Good story and had me laughing out loud many times (the gala dinner/cocktail making chapter had me in stitches).  I don't feel the need to read the next books right now but might do in the future.  A good book choice this month!

I will be unable to attend this evening due to having a very poorly boy. So I send my apologies but we need to keep him under close observation. 

My review: 

I really enjoyed this book! It was the perfect, easy read for the summer holidays and I read it over 2 days. I found it heartwarming and humorous in many places and really felt connected to the characters through the writing. 

I will seek out the other 2 books as I am intrigued to how their relationship may continue to develop. 

I am not able to come tonight as I am on nights. Not quite finished the book. I have enjoyed it so far. Think it will be a swim from me. Catch you next time. 

I liked this book, it was a light hearted read and an easy read, which was a nice change to the last 2 books that I had to force myself to read.

i thought the story was good, it had been well planned and I am always a fan of completing a story, I’m not a fan of cliffhangers which force you to read the other 42 books in the series.

i won’t make it tonight I’m afraid but hope to make the next one  

Just finished the book today. Really enjoyed it. Nice and easy to follow which was good as I started it then had to knave it bur was able to pick it back up and continue.

Love the quirkiness of both main characters and how they actually compliment eachother. May look at reading the follow ons.

Sorry not going to be able to make tonight as have to cover 1st aid at training.

Apologies, I can’t make the meeting this evening, I’ve literally just walked in from work, it’s been a busy weekend celebrating our Navy boys engagement at a party weekend in the south of Wales,

I absolutely loved this book, I found it amusing that he was completely unaware of his own characteristics,

I loved the awkward relationships he had with friends, potential girlfriends and it just endeared him to me,

i loved it so much I ordered the following 2 books in the trilogy.

I LOVED this book. It was definitely my cup of tea compared to all the other books I’ve read from book club. Was nice and easy to read and light hearted. More books like this please! I will be on the call just blacked out as my children are still up ️

I really enjoyed The Rosie Project. I found it really interesting and easy to read, and I was hooked from the very first chapter. I ended up finishing the whole book within a day because I was so invested in the story.

One of the things I enjoyed most was reading the story from Don’s point of view. It was really interesting to see how he understood and portrayed his emotions in his own way. At first, some of his reactions and ways of thinking were difficult to understand, but as the story went on, I started to understand him more and became much more emotionally invested in his character. Some of the moments actually made me quite emotional, especially as I began to see things from Don’s perspective and understand why certain situations affected him differently.

I am struggling with this book. My husband however has read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. He thought it was funny and well written. He has ordered the other two books. 

Really enjoyed this book. So much that I instantly bought the next two. Have lost a lot of sleep binge reading them.

The second book deals with the events as a result of Rosie's pregnancy. Some of them seemed to be things I had seen/read previously.

Enjoyed book two just as much as book one, including the more ridiculous scenarios that I can really picture happening.

About 40% of the way through book three and I am really enjoying how sensitively neurodiversity is being discussed. A bit disappointed it was set 10 years after book 2.

Would have loved to read about the toddler years after the events of book two.
