Behind The Uniform - Online Community Support Group

"Behind the Uniform, Beside Each Other"

A national online community to support, engage, and bring together people who are living independently while their serving person is away.

Piloting every Thursday starting 9th July through to the 20th August 2026 via MS Teams.

Behind the Uniform is a new national online group for military spouses and partners who are childfree, empty nesters, or simply living on their own while their serving person is deployed, detached, or away from home.

Our aim is to bring together individuals in similar circumstances from across the UK, providing a welcoming and supportive community where members can connect, share experiences, and support one another during periods of separation and isolation.

Behind the Uniform is a self-led group, offering a relaxed space to meet, chat, and build meaningful connections with others who understand the unique realities of military life.

Alongside peer support, there will be opportunities for social activities, guest sessions, and informal meet-ups—both online and in person where possible.

Whether you're new to military life or have experienced many periods apart, you'll find a friendly community ready to welcome you.

MS Teams link and more information can be found by going to the relevant date on our Member Events and Activities Calendar.

(If you are not already a member of "Members Events and Activities" you will need to request to join first)

This is an adult (18+) only group and is not for children to attend to give adults space away from family life.
