If you are moving out of SFA entirely, get in touch with the Home Services team to arrange your pre-move out appointment. Pre-Move Out appointments with your Housing Officer must take place at least 28 days before your move out date. This is so that you have time to complete any work required to bring your home up to move out standard in order to avoid any extra charges. To nominate a proxy to attend and act on your behalf please complete the relevant section on the e-1132 system. https://www.pinnacleservicefamilies.co.uk/handy-moving-home-checklist/ A Move Out appointment is where your Housing Officer will visit, check through everything with you and formally take over responsibility of the home. They will record all utility meter numbers, suppliers and meter readings on the Move Out form, however you are responsible for letting your utility suppliers know that you are moving out and supplying them with them the final meter readings, so you aren’t incorrectly charged. For full guidance on the circumstances that would warrant removals to be paid at public expense and undertaken by the authorised MOD contractor, Unit admin staff can provide advice on the regulations within JSP 752, Chapter 12, section 4. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/jsp-752-tri-service-regulations-for-expenses-and-allowances Disturbance Allowance is designed to contribute towards the necessary additional expenses that may arise when the Services require their personnel to relocate on permanent assignment, however not all moves will qualify. Unit admin staff can provide further guidance on the regulations in JSP 752, Chapter 12. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/jsp-752-tri-service-regulations-for-expenses-and-allowances

Blog Post: SFA Maintenance and Repairs

Maintenance and Repairs are via the National Service Centre (Option 1) can be used to report issues. It should take no more than an hour and must take place during working hours, but if you cannot attend you can officially nominate someone as a proxy to attend on your behalf. This can be one of your family members, a spouse/civil partner/partner or another serving person. On the day of your move in, your Housing Officer will meet you at your home and show you where everything is. They will work with you to complete the digital Move In Form to record any important information, such as any faults found and the action taken to resolve them, meter readings, details of recent safety inspections and your contact details. A second follow-up visit will be booked for approximately 14 days later. Together with your Housing Officer you will complete a 14 Day Observation Form to record any observations or snags you may have come across. Insurance Due to the Licence to Occupy Agreement, traditional home insurance policies do not cover the potential liability you may have to DIO Accommodation for any claims. You must therefore follow a different route to ensure you are fully covered and will need to arrange your own home liability insurance cover up to a minimum of £20,000. The Services Insurance and Investment Advisory Panel (SIIAP) provides details of a number of insurance providers who can organise policies that have been designed specifically for SFA. https://siiap.org/ JSP 464, Vol.1, Part 1, Chapter 6 provides further detail about Rules and Conditions of Occupation including the keeping of pets, grounds maintenance, business/commercial activity in SFA, payment for damage, interior/exterior decoration, and minor adaptations such as garden sheds and satellite dishes.

Blog Post: Service Families Accommodation (SFA) and Applications

Service Families Accommodation (SFA) is managed under the MOD accommodation service contract and part of The Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) programme. This is a single UK-wide contract for housing maintenance for approximately 49,000 UK military homes, delivering a full range of housing services including managing Move In and Move Out appointments, allocations, maintenance, and improvement work. Tel: 0800 031 8628 https://www.pinnacleservicefamilies.co.uk/contact-us/ https://www.pinnacleservicefamilies.co.uk/ Applications for SFA are made using the electronic (e) 1132 MOD Form on the Defence Intranet. For data security reasons the electronic e-1132 is only accessible when logged on to a MOD computer system that has access to the Defence Intranet. All Service personnel are expected to use the online e-1132 form unless on operations or do not readily have access to the Defence Intranet. If you have any special considerations or require Additional Needs/Disability Adaptations (ANDA) to your home, please include those in your application. As part of your home choices during the application process, you can opt to live in furnished, part furnished, or unfurnished Service Family Accommodation (SFA). All homes have curtains and a cooker as standard. You will have the chance to select your top three preferences when applying, depending upon availability. To help you make your choice the e-1132 system hosts basic information about the homes available, such as floor plans and photographs (where available). Further details about the application and allocation process and signing the Licence to Occupy can be found on the Pinnacle website. https://e1132.domis-r.r.mil.uk/e1132/ https://www.pinnacleservicefamilies.co.uk

Blog Post: SFA Removals Service

Agility Logistics Limited (Agility)  is the MOD approved service provider for removals and is part of the Global Removal Management Services (GRMS).
