Funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust and hosted by The Dales Academies Trust, the project recognises the unique challenges faced by service families - particularly when it comes to frequent moves, changes in schooling, and accessing consistent support for children with additional needs. One of the key aims of the project is to provide practical, accessible help for families and professionals supporting children with autism. Through close collaboration with parents, carers, schools and wider community organisations, they identified a clear need for better signposting to existing support services, not just for those children with autism, but for all children with special educational needs (SEND). While there is a wide range of support available locally, many families reported difficulties in finding the right help at the right time. In response to this, they have developed this support directory - a practical resource designed to bring together information about the many services, organisations, and resources available across the region. Whether you are a parent, carer, teacher, or health professional, they hope this directory will be a valuable tool to help you navigate what’s available and make connections with the right support.
