Little Troopers, the military children’s charity, is calling on people from across the forces community to climb Scafell Pike on Saturday 14th September to fundraise for the tri-service charity.
Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome to climb, with all participants asked to pay £15 which is a subsidised fee to go towards the cost of the mountain leaders who will accompany the group on the day.
The climb is also being sponsored Team Forces, which supports military sports, challenges and adventures, Once registered, climbers will be sent the link to set-up their fundraising pages with a suggested minimum fundraising total of £50 per adult.
The charity is hoping to raise at least £5,000 to support its work supporting children from all three services.

This will be the first time that the charity has organised a fundraising climb of England’s tallest mountain, having scaled Yr Wyddafa in Wales every other year since 2013.
All funds raised during the climb will go towards Little Troopers work supporting children who have parents serving in the British Armed Forces. From resources that families can use at home, through to its Little Troopers at School programme, All Together residential trips and adventure days, and Christmas Smiles initiative, Little Troopers is here to support all children who have a parent serving in the British Armed Forces, particularly during times of challenge and change.
Everyone who takes part will receive a medal and certificate which will be handed out at the end of the climb.
Anyone wanting to donate to the challenge can do so on the Little Troopers Scafell Pike Challenge page here: https://www.littletroopers.net/scafellpikeclimb/.

Louise Fetigan, Founder of Little Troopers, comments: “We’re really excited to be taking on a new challenge for Little Troopers and climbing Scafell Pike for the first time. Whether you’re a big group of friends or colleagues, or just want to come on your own and meet new people, everyone is welcome and I promise it will be a challenging but enjoyable day raising crucial funds in support of military children. Huge thank you to Team Forces for sponsoring this event.”
Little Troopers is a registered charity supporting service children who have parent(s) serving in our British Armed Forces, regular or reserve. These children often face unique challenges including frequent house and school moves, as well as regular periods of separation from their serving parent(s) for varying lengths of time due to exercises, training, operations and other service commitments.
As a charity, Little Troopers ensures British Armed Forces children and their families have access to child-focused support wherever they are in the world and whatever community they live in. Providing fundamental resources and initiatives to help ease repeated separation periods and keep parent and child connected even when miles apart.
Little Troopers are the only charity in the UK dedicated to celebrating just how special all our Little Troopers out there really are.
